Join The Scream Team

Nile Nightmares is always looking for fun, enthusiastic people to join our team! Opportunities include:

Haunted house experience is NOT required, but a desire to learn the ins and outs of haunting is highly encouraged. For our Scream Team, haunting is a year-round activity. You're always sure to find us attending festivals and hosting booths at local fairs. We also run a series of classes for new and returning performers.

Parents

1) While we welcome your child's registration, please know that adults are always our most crucial need. Let's face it; an adult with a chainsaw is slightly more terrifying than a child with one...unless it's my child. If I caught my child playing with a chainsaw, I'd be a little terrified...but I digress. To round out our cast, we'll always have room for a few kids, but adults will typically be cast in the key roles. One great way to find your child a role is to volunteer with them. Volunteering at a haunted house is one of the few activities that parents and children can do together that is equally enjoyable for all involved! What better way to bond as a family than scaring the living daylights out of people and later, laughing about it backstage together! So we'd encourage you to register as well.

2) This is a professional production requiring a regular, set staff each night. If you approve your child to participate, please know that we expect them to attend every show they've committed to and stay until the show ends regardless of if it's a school night...regardless of if they're behind on homework...regardless of if they got in trouble and put on restriction. Those issues penalize US as well so please plan ahead.

History

Formerly the Nile Haunted House, the Nile Shriners cracked open the coffin lid and began haunting in 2010.

The entire Nile Haunted House show was produced by a very small handful of Shriners and staffed on show nights with Masonic youth groups. Thousands of guests flocked to the Nile to revel in the mystique of Halloween. All was good, but there was room for improvement.

In 2013, the Haunted Nightmare team of designers, builders, actors, and make-up artists partnered with the Nile to create one of Seattle’s largest seasonal haunted attractions. Now in its 8th year of haunting, Nile Nightmares Haunted House scares thousands of thrill-seekers every year to help benefit the Nile Shriners.
